Economics and Marketing Research
Bangladesh Jute Research Institute

Different socio-economic and marketing studies relating to jute and allied fibers were conducted during 1986-1995. Important aspects of these socio-economic studies were trend analysis, cost and return, technology assessment, assessment of new varieties, economics of jute based cropping patterns, identification of farm level production and marketing constraints. Due to abolition of the economics and marketing division in 1995, the works of the division were stopped temporarily. Some of the work of the division was continued by the planning and training division. Since 1998, the new division Economics and Marketing Research has started functioning under a development project.
